Political Participation

SC ranks 50th of all states for women in elected office. And for the first time in 3 decades, its state Senate has no women. Join the movement to change the status of women in the political arena.

The Alliance's plan to promote the Political Participation of women:

  • Raise awareness of the last-place status of South Carolina women in elected office
  • Increase number of women running for office
  • Create Talent Bank to match women leaders with open positions on boards and commissions
  • Deliver integrated approach to creating awareness of political process
  • Co-sponsor of Pathways to Power with League of Women Voters of South Carolina and SE Institute for Women in Politics to salute women making a difference
  • Co-sponsor of numerous events to support equality and social justice
